Music historian and author Bob Santelli was a history major, but he got free albums and tickets to concerts by writing music reviews for his college newspaper. Michelle Harmon met Santelli at a Harlem Renaissance Institute sponsored by the Idaho Humanities Council; he was brought in by the IHC as the music scholar. Santelli led afternoon workshops for teachers about the blues, its history and its connection to the Harlem Renaissance. The week-long institute was held at The College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho.
