That decision disappointed the scholastic journalism world as it dramatically increased admin- istrators’ control over student media. Its impact continues to be felt in many scholastic and college classrooms. Now 25 years later after a long career in journalism education, Tom Eveslage has retired from Temple University as a national expert in student press law. He started his career in high school as a newspaper staffer and then headed off to college at St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minn., to get certified to teach high school English and journalism. His teaching career began at Mounds View HS in suburban St. Paul, Minn. He earned his M.A. in See Do the right thing on page 2A
